Save the Whales

I can't say that I am an animal activist but I do love animals enough to know, care and share when there are problems, especially when it is for humans greed it should be prevented. My family and I have always respected and loved animals and if there is an animal in need or is in danger I will try to put it back to health and help it, whether it is taking it in, adopting it or finding it a home.

I like to watch a lot of animal documentries and want to know what is going on and if I can help i'll try, one way of helping is spreading the word, teaching people about what is behind the curtains and hopefully enough people will care to help them.

I saw Blackfish recently, written and directed by Gabriella Cowperthwaite, it is a documentary on Tilikum a killer whale that has killed three people while being in captivity. In this documentary they ask if this is the fault of the trainers or the conditions these poor orcas are living in. Tilikum was a whale stolen from his mother at a very young age, maybe 2 and has been held in captivity since this age, doing shows infront of millions in tiny pools, and the audience is oblivious to what is behind the entertainment they provide. They are in disgusting conditions and should be put back into the wild.

I recommend you watch "Blackfish" and if you haven't done so already, "The Cove"
these are two special films and need to be watched and educated to everybody.

Ride close ups! Hilarious

Have you ever wondered what your face really looks like close up on a ride?

Our friends took us to a mini amusement park in Safranbolu called Luna Park and suggested the "Condor".
Now, I am not one to be easily scared on rides but I did wonder why one backed down at the last minute. As it was just the 5 of us we decided to sit on each end, BIG MISTAKE. One was screaming for the ride to stop the whole time which at first was funny but when everyone begged the man to stop it did get really scary for me too. Below is the evidence.

In the words of Willhelm "Dimli Dimli, Yok Yok  Yok, Dür, Dür"

The close Ups!!

Thank you Turkey for letting me Grow

It has been over a week since we have arrived to the small city of Safranbolu and I must say it hasn't been the most easiest of things for myself or the other teachers to adjust to the culture. Suprisingly it isn't Turkey as a country that is conservative, in fact I was shocked how European this country is. I don't want to sound ignorant but I was ignorant to what Turkey was like.

I didn´t come to Turkey as a tourist nor to party,

but as a school teacher for a prestigious school in a small city 200km away from Istanbul in (6 hours away by bus).
The school is an amazing school with facilities better than I have seen in  London, Spain and Italy.
Every single classroom has its own interactive board, internet is all over the school, a great canteen with homemade food, a basketball court indoor and outdoor. To be honest it is a school I would send my children.

The school is very conservative and this was my culture shock, maybe because I wasn't prepared. The school is muslim and the children obiously pray and read the Kuran in the mornings and I have no problem and I respect their religion. We don't have to wear head scarves but we do have to go covered up. This was something I was informed about, but what  I wasn't informed about was the fact I wasn't allowed to drink alcohol or smoke outside of the school in our free time. I don't smoke, so this is not a problem but I do like to have a beer with my friends, especially after a long hard week at work.

Unfortunately we were told off by the school, as drinking is not allowed at all. If you are a teacher at this school you have to follow their strict rules, no drinking, no smoking, socialising with other members lower or higher than you, and always asking permission to go out, or atleast telling people where we are going.

I am almost 30 years old and have travelled to many places and each place I have been to has made me stronger and made me learn from my experiences. At first I was very angry with the school, I was offended that I couldn't do what I wanted but then I took time out and meditated.
Why am I angry at this culture? I am a guest working here and need to respect their culture. I can drink beer or wine whenever I like, and having a detox is really good now and again.

This was a wake up call for me and it was also a lesson. I realized how lucky I am coming where I come from, this is not being against any religion but I have learnt to be an independent woman and here it seems you can't be that way. I have always been able to do what I like with caution and seeing how some locals aren't allowed to do the things I have been able to do makes me feel I have always taken my freedom forgranted.

After that I also learnt that I am the one that needs to adapt not the locals. Since this wake up call I have actually started to enjoy my stay in Turkey a lot more. I'm refraining from alcohol which means my liver is having a break. My beer belly is finally going down, although I am not getting a Baclava belly (turkish dessert), but atleast it's healthy.
Instead of drinking beer i'm enjoying the turkish tea. Instead of clubbing, i'm visiting beautiful sites, meeting some amazing people and having time to myself and having a very clear mind.

The people of Turkey are the most hospitable people I have ever met in the World. I have nevere felt so well looked after and welcome by anyone, not even family. I have been showered with gifts and been taken to places I would never have been able to see if I hadn't integrated with the people.
I don't like being a typical tourist and seeing the main sites, I want to be part of it and after almost 2 weeks in Turkey I can say I have adapted quite well to the culture and the city life.
I even chanced a haircut which I am extremely happy about.

Thanks to my open mind and the adventurer in me I can see I have grown as a person and feel I have learnt so much in such little time.
People who live in their bubbles do really need to experience something like this.

Thank you  Turkey!!!

Eating out in Barcelona - Els Quatre Gats

Last night I went to dinner at the restaurant Els Quatre Gats (The Four Cats).
This restaurant is in the heart of the city of Barcelona and must be visited at least once as the restaurant not only has a lot of history behind it, but its beautifully decorated, has an amazing service and great traditional Catalan and Spanish cuisine.

A Brief History

This restaurant was opened on June 12th 1897 in the Montsió street. The idea to open this restaurant was originally taken from an entertainment presenter and waiter in the cabaret Le Chat Noir called Pere Romeu. Pere Romeu wanted to create a similar environment that he was seduced by in Paris, here in Barcelona. He wanted it to be like a tavern, with cheap food and piano music. He got the financial support from some of his friends, including Ramon Casas and Santiago Rusiñol.

The building was designed by the architect Puig i Cadafalch. It drew attention because it was unusual, refined and artistic details combined with objects could be seen as characteristic of a traditional hostel.

Before, shows of Chinese shadows and of marionettes were made and, to announce them, Ramon Casas painted posters following the fashion of the time

Picasso started to frequent the place and carried out his first exhibition in the big room at the age of 17 in 1899. He made the poster that was used as a title page of the menu of the house.

Gaudí the famous architect and many other famous people like the musician Isaac Albéniz and his friend Enric Granados visited the 4 Gats.

There are paintings hanging from the walls by Picasso, Casas, Opisso, Nonell, Rusiñol…;

The food and service at the 4 Gats was great. The waiters and maître’s are on the ball constantly, making sure your wine glass is always full and your food comes out at the right time.

It isn't cheap nor too expensive and if you come to the city for a weekend break then do visit this bohemian style restaurant.

Seafood Restaurant - La Paradeta Marisqueria

If you are searching for the freshest sea food, be sure to visit "La Paradeta" http://www.laparadeta.com
Its cheap and cheerful and the food is lush. When you walk in it sounds like a cafeteria and it's like entering a fish market where you can order fish and seafood and decide if you want it fried or grilled, then when the food is cooked your table number is called and you go to the counter and start collecting your dishes.

There are several in and out side of Barcelona and you can't reserve a table. So be sure to go with plenty of time. Great to try out with small groups or if you are in Barcelona and want to try someting typical and nice.

Anti-Perspirant for those sweaters

For years I have been testing every product on the high street to stop me sweating the way I do.
I have considered Botox on my armpits, even operating myself so I would no longer sweat, although I have been told not to go down that road as it could be dangerous and can cause serious bad effects on the body.
This has been a very long and desperate road for me as my sweat glands made me sweat so much that even when I was cold or jumping out of the shower I would already be dripping.
Lucky for me I wouldn´t smell, but I would have all my clothes wet, and stained from the deodorants. It has been very frustrating for me and I have lived with a complex for years because I didn't have success in finding the product that was adequate for me.
A few weeks back I went to London and saw my brother and I don't remember how the topic arose but he mentioned to me a deodorant that has done wonders for himself and his partner.

DRICLOR is the brand which you can buy in any local pharmacy. It is a strong anti-perspirant, and when I say strong I really mean it. Driclor is similar to other strong anti-perspirants using 20% aluminium chloride hexahydrate as the active ingredient, however, the water content and roll-on dispenser may cause skin irritancy as water / perspiration can break down the active ingredient to produce hydrochloric acid.
Driclor is sold only as a roll-on application bottle and they suggest you put it on every night before going to bed, as this is when your sweat glands are least active, it may cause irritation, so be sure to wash your skin before applying the deodorant.
The next day they recommend you wash your skin and then put on your normal deodorant.
Do this for 2 weeks and then after you can put it on every few days.
I have been using this for a few weeks now and it really has worked for me. I am no longer sweating like I used to, although I do feel hotter than I usually do, maybe my body is finding its balance?
People have warned me this may not be good for you, but each time I am putting less on and I am no longer sweating and if I can avoid that and help others with sweating less, then why not?

Try it....

A recomendable Hair Product and great Hair dressers.

After spending months trying to get back on form economically, I have finally been able to spend money on myself and there are a few products I would like to recommend.

Last month I was in London and went to get my hair done at Gino's Hairdressing which is situated near Russell Square Tube station www.ginohairdressing.com

I am not a big fan of going to the hairdressers, I generally don't relax whilst i'm getting my hair washed even though I get my head massaged, but this visit to this wonderful hair dresser was different.
Just entering the place you feel a sense of warmth and automatically feel relaxed, with the music low and candles lit up, giving this a different ambience to any other salon I have visited.

The staff were really friendly and offered me a drink and magazines to read.
After getting my hair done I was offered to purchase a product: Moroccanoil, which they used on my hair. I don't generally buy myself extra products for my hair as I am very lazy, but this time I thought I would go all out and give it a try.

Moroccanoil Treatment’s really versatile, nourishing and residue-free formula can be used as a conditioning, styling and finishing tool. It blends perfectly with other products and even speeds up drying time. This treatment for hair completely transforms and repairs as its formula transports lost proteins for strength; fatty acids, omega-3 oils and vitamins for shine; and antioxidants for protection. It absorbs instantly to fill gaps in hair created by heat, styling and environmental damage.

Since I have started using this product I have noticed my hair is healthier, shinier and less knotty. There are other products you can buy from different brands and the stylists can guide you on which product will suit your needs.

So if you are in London and need a good hair stylist ( they have both ladies and gents hairdressers next door to each other) or want to get great Therapy by a Holistic Therapist then this is the place to go, as the staff are friendly and very welcoming.

15 Things you should give up to be Happy.

This was sent to me by a friend and was written by Dana Saviuc, it has so much truth to it so I would like to share it with you.

15 Things You Should Give Up To Be Happy

--by Dana Saviuc, Original Story, May 10, 2012
Here is a list of 15 things which, if you give up on them, will make your life a
lot easier and much, much happier. We hold on to so many things that cause us a great deal of pain, stress and suffering – and instead of letting them all go, instead of allowing ourselves to be stress free and happy – we cling on to them. Not anymore. Starting today we will give up on all those things that no longer serve us, and we will embrace change. Ready? Here we go:
1. Give up your need to always be right. There are so many of us who can’t stand the idea of being wrong – wanting to always be right – even at the risk of ending great relationships or causing a great deal of stress and pain, for us and for others. It’s just not worth it. Whenever you feel the ‘urgent’ need to jump into a fight over who is right and who is wrong, ask yourself this question: “Would I rather be right, or would I rather be kind?” Wayne Dyer. What difference will that make? Is your ego really that big?

2. Give up your need for control. Be willing to give up your need to always control everything that happens to you and around you – situations, events, people, etc. Whether they are loved ones, coworkers, or just strangers you meet on the street – just allow them to be. Allow everything and everyone to be just as they are and you will see how much better will that make you feel.
“By letting it go it all gets done. The world is won by those who let it go. But when you try and try. The world is beyond winning.” Lao Tzu
3. Give up on blame. Give up on your need to blame others for what you have or don’t have, for what you feel or don’t feel. Stop giving your powers away and start taking responsibility for your life.
4. Give up your self-defeating self-talk. Oh my. How many people are hurting themselves because of their negative, polluted and repetitive self-defeating mindset? Don’t believe everything that your mind is telling you – especially if it’s negative and self-defeating. You are better than that.
“The mind is a superb instrument if used rightly. Used wrongly, however, it becomes very destructive.” Eckhart Tolle
5. Give up your limiting beliefs about what you can or cannot do, about what is possible or impossible. From now on, you are no longer going to allow your limiting beliefs to keep you stuck in the wrong place. Spread your wings and fly!
“A belief is not an idea held by the mind, it is an idea that holds the mind” Elly Roselle
6. Give up complaining. Give up your constant need to complain about those many, many, maaany things – people, situations, events that make you unhappy, sad and depressed. Nobody can make you unhappy, no situation can make you sad or miserable unless you allow it to. It’s not the situation that triggers those feelings in you, but how you choose to look at it. Never underestimate the power of positive thinking.
7. Give up the luxury of criticism. Give up your need to criticize things, events or people that are different than you. We are all different, yet we are all the same. We all want to be happy, we all want to love and be loved and we all want to be understood. We all want something, and something is wished by us all.
8. Give up your need to impress others. Stop trying so hard to be something that you’re not just to make others like you. It doesn’t work this way. The moment you stop trying so hard to be something that you’re not, the moment you take off all your masks, the moment you accept and embrace the real you, you will find people will be drawn to you, effortlessly.
9. Give up your resistance to change. Change is good. Change will help you move from A to B. Change will help you make improvements in your life and also the lives of those around you. Follow your bliss, embrace change – don’t resist it.
“Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors for you where there were only walls” Joseph Campbell
10. Give up labels. Stop labeling those things, people or events that you don’t understand as being weird or different and try opening your mind, little by little. Minds only work when open. “The highest form of ignorance is when you reject something you don’t know anything about.” Wayne Dyer
11. Give up on your fears. Fear is just an illusion, it doesn’t exist – you created it. It’s all in your mind. Correct the inside and the outside will fall into place.
“The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself.” Franklin D. Roosevelt
12. Give up your excuses. Send them packing and tell them they’re fired. You no longer need them. A lot of times we limit ourselves because of the many excuses we use. Instead of growing and working on improving ourselves and our lives, we get stuck, lying to ourselves, using all kind of excuses – excuses that 99.9% of the time are not even real.
13. Give up the past. I know, I know. It’s hard. Especially when the past looks so much better than the present and the future looks so frightening, but you have to take into consideration the fact that the present moment is all you have and all you will ever have. The past you are now longing for – the past that you are now dreaming about – was ignored by you when it was present. Stop deluding yourself. Be present in everything you do and enjoy life. After all life is a journey not a destination. Have a clear vision for the future, prepare yourself, but always be present in the now.
14. Give up attachment. This is a concept that, for most of us is so hard to grasp and I have to tell you that it was for me too, (it still is) but it’s not something impossible. You get better and better at with time and practice. The moment you detach yourself from all things, (and that doesn’t mean you give up your love for them – because love and attachment have nothing to do with one another,  attachment comes from a place of fear, while love… well, real love is pure, kind, and self less, where there is love there can’t be fear, and because of that, attachment and love cannot coexist) you become so peaceful, so tolerant, so kind, and so serene. You will get to a place where you will be able to understand all things without even trying. A state beyond words.
15. Give up living your life to other people’s expectations. Way too many people are living a life that is not theirs to live. They live their lives according to what others think is best for them, they live their lives according to what their parents think is best for them, to what their friends, their enemies and their teachers, their government and the media think is best for them. They ignore their inner voice, that inner calling. They are so busy with pleasing everybody, with living up to other people’s expectations, that they lose control over their lives. They forget what makes them happy, what they want, what they need….and eventually they forget about themselves.  You have one life – this one right now – you must live it, own it, and especially don’t let other people’s opinions distract you from your path.

Shambhala - New Coaster at PortAventura

This weekend was the opening of the newest rollercoaster at Port Aventura.
The ride: Shambhala
Expedition in the Himalaya - it says it all really, doesn't it?

This is the highest roller coaster in Europe, which has a 76Metre drop, the fastest drop and fastest in Europe, and I got the opportunity to ride this on the opening day.
The experience was amazing, you are held in your seat with just one bar holding you in.
It gives you the sensation that you are flying and I recommend this to any rollercoaster fans. You really can't compare this to any ride as it is so unbelievably smooth, no head banging, no dizzy spells just pure flying (feeling) across a park.

Port aventura has other great rides, the water ones which is great to cool you down in the blazing sun and Furios Bacos which also is amazing. It goes from 0 - 135km in just 5 seconds.

The park is worth visiting and if you go in summer you have a water park too.

The entrance to the park is 44€ but there are offers always available, so before going always look online to see what they have on offer.

But make sure you try this ride out! I definitly give it 10 out of 10!!!

Anti Crisis Beauty tips - "Waxing"

***

For over 10 years now I have been doing my own hair removal and it has got to the point where I am so obsessed with this that it was time I did a blog post on comparisons and share it.

Most ladies (and now men) like to go to the beauty salon and get themselves pampered or they have a fear of waxing themselves so they go to the centre as its quick and easy, but now that we are in times of crisis, not all of us can afford paying out to get our legs, bikini lines, and underarms done. So why not try a bit of body DIY?
I personally think I have been a total of 5 times to a beauty salon to get waxed, why?
It´s not because I´m cheap, but because whenever I have gone to get my legs waxed or sugared it has never been up to my own standard of perfection. I hate the fact that I have paid 20 € for my legs to be done, to go home and find a little patch that the therapist missed. So as the saying goes, "want a job done, better do it yourself".

So that is the approach I have taken on myself, my boyfriend, family members and friends that don´t mind going under my hands of complete perfection.
A lot of my family members tell me I should take a course on beauty as I seem to enjoy it a lot. My answer to that is, yes I love it, but its a hobby and not a profession I would like to take on.

What I would like to do here is, compare the different methods that can be done at home, which is the most effective in painless hair removal, beauty and lastly but most importantly, in cost!!
***

Shaving / The razor blade -

Firstly I must say about this, my mum, being a Spanish lady she has always been against the shaving method and with great reason, so maybe her influence has rubbed off on me. But I agree with her on this. A lot of ladies shave their own legs, bikini lines and armpits and I although this is
most probably the quickest option, it isn´t one I would ever recommend, for me this is a no go unless it is really, really urgent. I used to shave my underarm but after going on a surprise holiday to Morocco and not having the razor blade to do my underarms in the shower and then having to disguise these thick black hairs I decided enough was enough, I'd rather endure a 30 second pull on the skin with wax or my silk epil and no longer worry about those dark, disgusting hairs popping out.
Shaving makes your leg hairs grow 10 times faster and thicker and if you leave it more than one day it feels like a mans unshaved face. Some girls say this is the best choice as the other options hurt too much or its time consuming, but I think this is just an excuse as waxing doesn´t hurt that much, especially after the first couple of sessions.
***

The Silk Epil -

A lot of people are quite scared of this option, they think this is most painful method, and I must admit, the first time I ever used one of these I wanted to scream the house down. But my mum got me my own silk epil for my birthday and I decided that I had to brave it up, as they say "pain is beauty" and in this case, it really is. My mum has always been so against shaving so it was either waiting for her to take me to get my legs waxed (when I was a teen) or occupying an evening to myself of pampering "DIY".
So I started with the silk epil and I got used to it, it no longer hurt as much and it was quick, but it does seem to coz ingrowing hairs and each time I have used it, the hairs seem to grow faster, although it still takes a few weeks.

Silk Epil and waxing for me have been the best options as the sil epil is about 60€ and lasts years. Wax is also cheap, takes a while for the hairs to grow back and if you want to do it from home you can.

***

Waxing and its many methods

There is no secret to waxing, its just "manning up" to the situation. People that say that this method is too painful is an excuse because they are lazy, like the easy option and can´t be brave pulling out some hairs (unless you have very sensitive skin.)
The Wax Strip -

I dislike this method, although it´s handy as it´s clean, but its expensive for the amount of strips you get in a packet and depending on the strips, they are sometimes not strong enough or the wax sticks more to the skin than the hair to the actual strip. I have tried this method a few times on my underarms and bikini line and I´m not a fan of it.
***
Pots for Upper Lips / Underarms and facial hair -

This method is great for upper lips, facial hairs and underarms. Its less wax to deal with, its quick and strong enough to put on one layer of wax and rip off! Ha ha Sounds painful but I promise you, after your first time it will not hurt so much. Just do it properly. Add the right amount of wax and as you rip it off in one, quickly too, put your hand on the stripped area and your skin will soothe the pain. Pots are really cheap and they are long lasting. You can buy the microwavable pots or the ones you put on your stove. Only problem with waxing these areas is that you have to give yourself time before going out, if not you will be displaying a very red area on your face and if you want to avoid being stared at, its best to dedicate yourself to this when you don´t have a dinner party.
***
Leg Waxing!
You can buy the pots for this, they are cheap to buy. One of my critisims for this is that you heat this in the microwave and by the time you get to your second leg you will have to reheat the wax, which is time consuming and frustrating as you have to wait for it to cool down again, or until you are finished removing all them hairs.
***
And the Winner is (for legs).....

...The Portable Hair Removing Wax Machine

I bought myself this machine last year when I was in Italy.

It cost me 12 Euros, which included the machine, 4 wax refills and a huge roll of strips. This was the biggest bargain ever!

The first time I used this, it was a complete disaster. I plugged in the machine and started trying rolling the wax onto my boyfriends skin (he was my guinea pig) and all I managed to do was pull on the hairs and rip them out without needing the wax. My poor bf wanted to kill me, and there was me laughing thinking he was a wimp.

After I realised he wasn´t a wimp but I was doing it wrong. You are meant to leave the machine heating for about 15 minutes and then start rolling the wax onto your skin.

This machine is amazing. It takes me 10 - 15 minutes to wax my legs, its clean, efficient and I promise you, it isn´t painful at all.

The machine rolls the wax onto your legs or chosen area evenly, there is no gloopy bits. You can put the wax all over your legs in one and then start putting the strips and pulling.

What I normally do, is the front part of both my legs and then I unplug it for the back of my legs. That way the wax doesn´t go hard and its extremely comfortable to use.

If you are looking for an option of hair removal, I really recommend this out of all the machines.

I have also now got a new deal on these web sites which have brilliant offers and have started the Photodepilation but I can opinion on it just yet as I still have 5 more sessions to go!

Is Political indifference causing rubbish in Naples?

I really want to know why Naples is the city with the most rubbish bags and crap all over? This could be such an amazing city with its coastline, port full of bars and people and amazing historic sites, just like Barcelona or even Rome, but the amount of rubbish makes this worse than any third world country because poverty shouldn't be an excuse. Naples has a fame violence and its dirt, so why isn't anything done about it?

I drove by and it was incredible the mountains of rubbish bags there were!I really thought that people exaggerated but no they didn't. People burning them so they could try and diminish the piles, instead toxic waste is ready to poison all living things in this city.
Children play football along sanitarty products on the roads. People add to the rubbish because that what they once called their street is now a dumpsite.
Why doesn't the government at least try and do something new?

Berlusconi has got to stop chatting up birds and living the high life and face reality and concentrate on the real Italy.
And if it is the so called mafias fault, I want to know why the hell they like living in their own sh*t?

Naples is a city of Italy but it is its own World. There are no rules and everyone lives how they want. I witnessed many times going to a petrol station the attendant filling up my tank with a fag dangling from his mouth, I laugh but then I think to myself, "SH*T, I may get blown up here".

I want to say this is a lovely place to visit, and I think it would, as Naples shouldn't lose its authenticity and what it is famous for, but at the same time, we don't want to witness another plague....

Airport Controls - Are we really unsafe?

Having just come back from a quick holiday and coming back by plane, I have got the urge to ask and write about the same thing I ask myself everytime I fly.
-"Are we passengers being conned to fly with no liquids and little handluggage etc, or are we really that unsafe from terrorists and other terrible people in the air?"

Everytime I fly (which is as often as 6 times a year). I notice there are new rules and legislations that we need to follow which make us have less and less rights although this can sometimes be an expensive form of travel. We get treated like barn yard animals or even like criminals if we accidentally leave a lighter in our inside pocket.

The way I got searched through my trainers was ridiculous. O.k, I understand there is the slight chance i'll get my secret weapons out :-) but when there are hundreds of people in a queue is it really necesarry all this drama and rude, uptight gestures from the security staff? I know it can be boring seeing so many faces, but do they have to put me off my travels?
In the end, behind all this moaning I am a good traveller, I know what to have off before going through security, I always have my boarding pass and passport open at the right moment, I have my mobile off at all times, I don't stand until the plane has come to complete stop, and I evem weigh my bag before every flight, just so I dont get ripped off for having that extra kilo....

What I don't understand is, why do ferries, cruises, buses and trains not have the same security restrictions like planes do, if they are preventing bombers bombing? Why are planes always the main targets for terrorism, by police/ security when there have been more bombing attempts on trains within countries like the UK (7th July train bombings) and Spain (11-m).

I get angry because I sometimes question whether this is a huge money making scheme for both the airlines and every type of business that sell products for your holidays or if they really are worried for us and our countries.

Today an Asian man, the only one in the Italian airport was stopped. Can this not be discrimination, or because there have been Asian terrorists we now have to stop each one? Should security really have the right to pick who they want to search and discriminate? I thought it was an awful gesture from the customs police considering it was more than obvious this man was a normal passenger, but then again, what do I know?

I have seen too many of these conspiracy theories to believe that foot scanners and whole body scanners do any good for us, I don't believe this is protecting the World or that Airport, it is more likely to give cancer to a higher percent of people than find a terrorist or narco trafficker.
Maybe I am wrong, as saying all this, when I got home this evening I read in the newspaper how they have found packages on two seperate airlines disguised in ink cartridge printers. They say this is a product that can't be found with detectors or scanners, so how come they are spending millions on new technology if the real technology isn't being detected?
How did they detect these "bombs"?

Is this fear factor they are creating in our lives really beneficial to the World?

What are they going to ban from us next? Mobiles and laptops???

Are we all going to live in a World like that Sly Stallone film where people don't even kiss?

Truthfully, I really don't want to see where all these new laws are heading, maybe I am making myself paranoid against the good guys, but it is something that has been bubbling inside me for a while, and more when I leave an airport!!!!

How to lose your job as a T.V interviewer.

I saw this clip a while back, and the interviewers laugh is so contagious that I was also laughing throughout the whole video.

TV Recommendation

If you study Media studies or enjoy a good critic and haven’t seen or heard of Charlie Brooker then I recommend you watch some of his shows.
I must say I am a big fan of what he does, the way he presents himself and each subject is great and very educational and I think we all should be made to watch this at some point. It will widen your knowledge in this world, even if you aren’t a student it is very interesting in learning how the world of TV and media really works.
He will criticize shows but with great understanding and with fine examples so it leaves you in the know.
Charlie Brooker is a British journalist, writer, comic, a TV Presenter and Critic and is also one of the creative directors of the comedy production company Zeppotron. He is famous for his style of humour which I love. He is Savage and profane and very pessimistic.
Most of his shows are ideal for people that are into media or are studying media studies, as it goes through every department and details of TV shows, series, news and games. Charlie Brooker has a long list of shows which I have thoroughly enjoyed but one of my favorites has to be “Newswipe” and “Screenwipe”.
He basically takes us behind the scenes with great facts on the news or the shows itself. In one episode of Screenwipe he explains how over time the TV shows treats us like dumb people and how they try and make TV simple for us, the viewers. They no longer put so many cultural shows for young people. Instead we are bombarded with TV that doesn’t benefit us at all.
There are so many different aspects he focuses on and is portrayed very well.
He also goes through the series we should watch and other programmes that are broadcast.
The shows he does are factual, great for learning and just a dam good watch. Another quick example is of Cillit Bang, the grease busting product used for cleaning. They explain how the adverts show experiments to rid of grease but really the experiment they are doing is really obvious if you understand Science and it is really a con what they are selling and “experimenting” as the two products they mix in that acidy liquid would happen with or without Cillit Bang. Like I said you have to just watch it to really understand it all.
There are still some shows I need to watch like the panel show he presents “You have been watching”.
But another show I must recommend is a five part zombie horror thriller called “Dead Set”. I don’t want to disclose too much but it is set in the Big Brother house and they have done it really well as they have had cameo roles from Davina McCall and all the original big brother contestants.

Gameswipe is also a show he recently presented. It is a one off episode on how computer games have advanced in the last 25 years. Even if you are like me and are not a huge computer game fan you will really enjoy this programme as you will see how we have modernised in technology in a big way and it explains the different developments and ideas for the future.

Seriously guys stop downloading all these episodes of Lost and Flash forward and take at least a weekend in chilling (especially now it is too cold to be on the streets) and watch it.

I guarantee you will enjoy it.
