Pastel Colours for Hair

When the clock struck 12 on December 31st I wasn't feeling as optimistic as I had liked to but one thing I knew was that I wanted to make 2016 a more positive and focused year.
2015 was a year of learning and jumping many hurdles.
This only means one thing in my world, after a mental detox with meditation and time to myself I knew I need a change of look
as it had been a long time since I had one so I woke up one day with that itch to do something crazy and as I had a morning of errands I knew I would find at least one decent hairdresser open. I say decent because it's sometimes difficult to find a hairdresser in Barcelona that shows professionalism, good styles, are not too expensive and that are open all day! I found one that ticked all the boxes. The salon was right next to my dentist so what way to reward myself after a painful session at the dentist. I found Centros mimas on Calle Diputación and it had a very professional feel to it. The staff are young and very polite and they gave me a nice talk before letting me decide.
I had the idea of what I wanted and the hairdresser helped with the decision. Usually I go for cutting my hair really short but it has taken me a good few years to grow these locks so I thought why not dye it and destroy it till I need to cut it (I will take good care of my hairi) I decided to go Pink, but not the type i'd usually go fo like fucsia, this time I opted for a more subtle and pastel pink.  The result was fantastic. I was really happy with the result knowing it wouldn't last.

The hairdresser told me before dying my hair that the colour would go straight away but I didnt know how little it would last. After a week it's gone a more blonde colour. It doesn't look bad but I like the pink!

Getting my hair done wasn't expensive but it would turn out to be if I had to go every week to the hairdresser, so aside from getting my hair bleached in an actual hairdresser, (I think it's preferable to get it done at a salon as they will know how to look after your hair and know the timings according to your hair). However, I've decided to colour my hair myself. I'm going to go for pink again and hope it lasts longer than a week. If not I may go for another pastel colour like Smokey or Ocean Storm. This dye is from   Wella Professionals Instamatic by Color Touch and the colour i'll be trying is Pink Dream. This is the most similar colour I got done last week.
Let's hope it lasts a little longer than the original colour put in. I'll give an update next week.

Who sets the ground rules?

Today my close friend brought up a very interesting discussion and point.

Footballers are paid millions to play football and be a good role model, being fit and healthy is important for any athletes image, that's why they are being paid.

Athletes go through rigourous training and then have to go through tests for any doping and if anything illegal is found they will be disqualified and removed from any competition.

What about the models and photoshop? Isn't photoshop an ´illegal move´ when it comes to tampering with a models body?

Why is there a need to photoshop an image when they already hired a beauty that will look good and model? I'm sure most of the models really don't need photoshop. Even if any famous person had a spot in their shoot it wouldn't really matter to us, they would still look beautiful in our eyes (unless you are one of those online bullies shredding every person to pieces.)

My point is, why shouldn't magazines and whoever tampers with photos not be fined just the way a strong athlete does who tries to maintain his image. We know models also party and take their drugs but that is for another time and they can continue modelling, however, any photographer or company that sell these images to magazines and sites which portray the perfect size -2 woman, should be banned if not fined from touching up images that are for public use. Filters just like Instagram should be enough (joke), and other methods for art purpose and lighting is fine but removing flesh is unecessary.

Rant Over

Made In Heaven

Saw a friend wearing this when I was putting lotion on his neck.
Maybe I'm not so into fashion as I had thought, Made in Heaven?
AWESOME

My summer evening walk wear

I have had knee high socks for years and I hardly put them on out of embarrassment or wondering what others would think. I did already introduce the boots with socks and this summer, after kicking out my self insecurities, I have been able to take in a different approach to life by not caring what people may think, I wear what I feel, I feel more confident -
- We need to keep confident -

As long as one isn't doing anything evil or offending hardcore, I don't think there should be worries about what one is dressed like.

Evening of deserved pampering...

After a long hard day at school the teachers and I decided it was time to do a bit of Pampering, and where else can we go for great pampering, great customer service and really great prices. We went to Sürpriz Kuaförü in Safranbolu and it was a very enjoyable and funny experience. We were very daring considering we didn't really understand eachother. We were describing the "looks" we wanted with Google Translate, so it was going to be a fun adventure. Fortunately the experience went well. We all got our hair done, I got highlights and I must say they are the best I have ever got so far. Then the price was astonishing. 100 TL (45€) for highlights, colour, hairwash and blow dry. I left really happy and so did my friends. Even our guy teacher felt happy when we left, I'm guessing because the wait was finally over. It's a shame it's a bit expensive to fly to Turkey if not I would have found my new local hairdresser.

Turkish Jewellery

Since I have arrived to Turkey I have been trying to resist shopping but how can one help it when everything is so cheap!!! I have bought a number of items for a brilliant price. Earrings for less than a €, bracelets between 5-10€! I think my suitcase it going to just be taking jewellery back

This was a gift from the bar owner at Safranbolu pub. What a lovely gesture.

Aria and Avatar Bonding

Check out the little ones bonding.

Aria The found Kitty

It is amazing how something so tiny can make you have the biggest smile and feeling of happiness....

Even my "Abuelita" loved her so much, she didnt complain once about her own health. She is fantastic anyway.
After a long day and being introduced to the family she was K.O on the way home.

This is Aria, she stumbled across my partners feet when he was on his way home from football. She was frightened and crying and he picked her up and brought her home.

At first things were tense at home, Avatar was weary and was hissing at her. But after one night of sleeping in seperate rooms they have managed to get closer and even play together.

After seeing how well she was getting on with Avatar we decided to keep her. It's amazing what a small little creature can bring to a home. It is so sad that there are so many people capable of letting go of their pets.

Animals need to be looked after and the first thing we are going to do is get her steralized to ensure no more kittens are produced with no home to go to. This should be done by everyone until there are no more abandoned or lost cats.

Clothes clear out

This evening, while cooking I started doing a mental wardrobe clear out and decided today was the day to start putting my thoughts into action. I managed to get inspired and cleared quite a big pile of clothes which I am planning on taking it somewhere that it will be of use to someone. Someone that is in need of warm, clean clothes and can't find the means.
I feel like I really needed this cleanse and I really do feel "ligter" from some baggage I had.

Now I need to search where in Barcelona there is somewhere. I'm sure there will be plenty.

If anyone knows please leave your comment.

My Pile of Clothes

Karl's Midsummer Nights collection

I'm interested in fashion but I don't normally look at the runway shows but as I was doing the evening routine of scrolling through the different news sites I came across today's runway show of Karl Lagerfeld's Midsummer Nights.
The first thing I fell for was the make up that Cara Delevingn has on for this Chanel Collection, it's very Gothic but in a subtle way, (if that's even possible?)

The leggings look great with the dresses. More than one man will be happy with Spring-Summer 2013. I am, just can't afford it.
