Parque Virrey

Oh what an Addictive game

Since we have been recovering from new years and been taking it slow we have taken the time to check out all the different parks near to us in Bogota. There are lots of little parks in every area, and each one is looked after and are very nicely decorated for the festive season.

Close to us we have the "Parque Virrey", the "Parque Nacional" and "Parque 93". I am sure there are many more but can not remember the name of all.

I was surprised how well looked after they were, comparing them to England but really, these parks are truly a beauty to go and visit. Each park has their lighting, which it makes it look like a mini wonderland, so magical.... also it is full of people until the early hours. You have people selling aromatica, candy floss, obleas and the list continues.

It was like going out to a school fayre.......

The parks have their own gymnasiums, where families go and do their daily excercise. I have only seen this here in Bogota and in Andorra and I think it is a wonderful idea to get people moving and motivated to keep fit as each apparatus is fun and not too difficult to do.....

Would be good for children in the UK to do even instead of playing on their Playstations etc......

It is truly a nice atmosphere and again I haven't felt a bit of danger. The good thing is in all the parks there is military service and they are not intimdating to see but it does keep peace and order in case anything was to occur.....
