Mona Lisa by Botero
Today we went to visit the Fernando Botero museum. A Colombian artist born in Medellin in 1932. His art had been donated to the museum so the people can visit for free.
Apart from his artwork you can also visit other artists paintings and sculptures, like Max Ernst, Joan Miro, Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso and many more.
The Museum is in Bogota and is definitely worth visiting if you come here.
I found Botero's artwork cute. All his paintings and sculptures of people and animals are chubby, including the fruit.
He said it's because it's healthier looking which you can maybe relate to it that way but I still insist it look cute.
After the museum we went for some breakfast, it was very tasty. The breakfast included a drink which was pure cacao with some different breads and some cheese, normally the people put the cheese into the chocolate but as I am not a huge cheese fan I tried it and gave the rest to Andy.
Once we had breakfast we went around the markets, that was interesting to see all the handmade craft works like a nice cot, shelves and baskets. It's nice to walk through the traditional markets as the people are very friendly always saying "a la orden" (at your service).
Handcraft Market
After the market we were left exhausted and we went home. We jumped on the bus, they are crazy though. They stop anywhere, if you put your arm out wherever you are the bus will stop. Then you jump on and pass a revolving metal door then you pay. The crazy thing is the door is sometimes left open and the people just jump on even while the bus is moving, or the bus drives off while the people are still coming on. CRAZY.......
The bus drivers drive like maniacs too, speeding and braking at the last minute, I truly felt like I was on a rollercoaster ride but without the safety belts!!!!
We finally have arrived home for lunch and I think I will be sleeping a while considering it is raining hardcore..........uffff!
Oh yeah! I got a tiny bit sunburnt yesterday....yes people, be jealous, it is hot!!!!
