After a few days resting in Bogota we decided to do a bit more tourism....
We headed towards Montserrate, Montserrate is called this because it means closed mountain....This is a lovely mountaini range where you can see the whole of Bogota. There is a church up there, just like in Catalunya, and what we also saw was the Black virgin! This is a replica of the one near to Barcelona.
Para el meus amics de Catalunya..... aqui ves como somos unidos....Aqui en Bogota tienen la replica de la virgen que esta en Catalunya, ademas tienen la bandera!! oleeeee
Guadalupe, this can only be reached by walking up there...
The views from the Funicular
It was great, because when we asked the guide about it, she told us it was a replica from Catalunya and not from Spain. My fellow Catalan friends should all be content with that, as people as far as Colombia know about Catalunya, plus it makes me feel more united to my half colombian boyfriend!
We stayed there buying souvenirs and then we had lunch. It was the worst lunch I have ever eaten. We had loads of different meats called Fritanga, but it tasted like it had been cooked over and over again...there was even intestine!! it was tasty until I was told that it is never washed before they cut and cook it.....OH NOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Obviously I am telling you this because that night I got pretty unwell....
By the wishing well...
Fritanga....or just fried sh*t....
Bulls balls....yes balls....
A sheep dog....or dog with rasta's
After that we headed back to bogota and went to Simon Bolivar's house. He was a president many years ago and tried to unite South America and Make Gran Colombia, basically he did what Chavez wants to do now but he weren't such an ass...

He did make Gran Colombia happen and it was working for years but then something happened for the countries to split again. He united Panama, Ecuador, Colombia and Bolivia.... It was an enjoyable history lesson and a very nice day out....
The artillery they had...
The flags of what was Gran Colombia....
Como mola Montserrate!!! Yo quiero subir al Andy Express!!!
